What are Shipping Groups?
X

Shipping Groups A (Optional) are mostly used for Drop-Shipments. Enter the Name or some identifying label for the shipment into the Shipping Group field. This will keep all items together for that group. This feature allows you to enter orders containing multiple drop-shipments. Each group gets procesed as a seperate charge and processed as an individual order at checkout. Multiple drop shipments with 1 Single Checkout click!

For example, Enter the Name of a customer (ie. Bob Smith) in the Shipping group field. Now add items to your cart that you intend to have shipped to Bob Smith. And you also have another customer (ie. Cathy Jones) to buy different items for. Now clear the Shipping Group field and enter Cathey Jones. And add all of the items for their vehicle. When you're done adding items. Go to the Shopping Cart Tab and you'll see 2 different Shipping Groups (carts) ready for checkout. Enter the appropriate shipping address for each group. Press calculate shipping after all addresses have been entered. This will activate the Checkout Buttons.

Shipping Groups can also be used to organize items into logical groups. Maybe you have muliptle, different vehicles to purchase items for. Maybe you're working on 3 different vehicles for different customers and you'd like to organize the parts for each vehicle into the appropriate groups.

In the Shopping Cart Tab, shipping group labels will apear in the seperate Shopping Carts in the upper left of each cart B C. If you leave the field blank, all items will go into the "Default" group (cart). Meaning all items will be shipping to one location. This doesn't easily allow for Drop-Shipments to multiple customers though (without processing each one through as a completely different order). Shipping Groups are intended to make the checkout process for drop-shipment orders quicker and easier. With a "One Click Checkout" process at the end.

Note: Each Shipping Group must have the address Information completely filled out before the Checkout buttons will be active.

Do I have a Series or Regen Cart?
X
(5 easy ways to tell the difference - Use at least 3 of 5 to confirm.)

1. Does the Golf Cart have a Tow/Run switch or Run/Maintenance switch? This would be under the seat. If the cart DOES have this switch, it is a Regen (Regenerative Braking) cart. If there is NOT a switch, then its a Series cart (Exception - Club Car : Regen I Models).

See examples below (Fig. 1.1, Fig. 1.2 & Fig. 1.3).

2. Does the motor have a speed sensor wire protruding from the end head? If the answer is YES, then it is a Regen motor. If there is NO speed sensor lead on the motor, then it is a Series motor.
See Fig. 2 below.

Fig. 2
E-Z-GO Regen MotorClub Car Regen Motor
Exception: Early EZ-GO - DCS (Drive Control System) models
around 1997 are Regen but do NOT have a speed sensor!
3. What do the motor Field Coil Windings Look Like?
a. Regen motors have "shunt" or "round wire" coils, usually with smaller gauge wire (12AWG - 24AWG range). Usuaully, with a large amount of turns (60 to 200+ turns) per field coil.
b. Series motors have "flat wire" coils with larger wire sizes. Usually, the wire is rectanular in shape (cross-section). These coils have a much lower number of turns (usually 5 to 15 turns) per field coil.
See Fig. 3a & 3b below
Fig. 3a

Fig. 3b
Note:A Regen cart will normally automatically slow down when you hit approximately 15 MPH going down a hill. This is for safety reasons (as not to over-spin the armature).

4. Are there 2 smaller diameter (1/4-20 UNC) terminals and 2 larger diameter (5/16-18 UNC) terminals on the motor? Or are all 4 terminal studs on the motor the same size (5/16-18 UNC)?
If there are 2 smaller and 2 larger terminals bolts, its a Regen motor.
If all 4 bolts are the same size, then its a Series motor.
See Fig. 4 below

What Model Regen Cart do I have?
X

1.This is quite simple. Just lift up the seat on your golf cart and count the number of water-fill holes on the batteries. Mutiply that number by 2. That number is the voltage of the golf cart. You can also check the charger for a voltage listing.
See Fig. 1.a & 1.b below for examples.

Fig. 1.a
Fig. 1.b
3 water-fill holes = 6 Volt battery
4 water-fill holes = 8 Volt Battery
ex. Most EZ-GO Carts will have

6 X 6 Volts = 36 Volts.
ex. Most Club Car carts will have
6 (8 Volt batteries)

6 X 8 Volts = 48 Volts

1. For EZ-GO Regen carts, you must determine if it is a DCS (Drive Control System) or PDS (Power Drive System) cart. This can be determined by the type of Forward/Reverse switch and controller. Be advised, more often than not, the model type is written right on the cart itself.
See examples (Fig. 1.1 & Fig. 1.2) below.

2. For Club Car Regen carts, you must determine if it is a Regen I, PDPlus / Regen II , IQ/Precedent (NOT I2) or Precedent I2 model. This can be determined by the type of Forward/Reverse switch and/or the type of controller in the cart. See examples below.
Note: IQ Carts will have a Serial Number on the data plate that begins with the letter "Q".

** How to identify an Precedent I2 car
In the last half of 2008, Club Car introduced their new Precedent i2 car. The body is that of the Precedent cart, but the wiring and electronics are different that their previous IQ/Precedent models.
Cosmetically, the Precedent and i2 cart look the same even the wiring harness looks the same. The wire harness interface is still the 16 pin white connector and will plug into both the IQ/Precedent and the Precedent i2 controllers. The wiring in the connector and the throttle are different between the two cars and are not compatible.
The fastest and easiest way to identify the i2 car is by the color of the controller. The IQ/Precedent car uses a BLACK Curtis controller. The i2 car uses a GREY Curtis controller (PN: 103403401).
The location of the controller has changed since the initial release of the i2. The controller could be located in the center console or on the passenger side of the car against the rear battery wall.

1. What year is my E-Z-GO?

TXT 1996 - PresentMedalist 1994 - 1995Marathon 1988 - 1994

1a. Where is the Serial Number located on my E-Z-GO?

Medalist & TXT Models (1994 to Present)
The manufacturers number and serial number for these E-Z-GO golf cart models can be found on a plate in the passenger side glove box. The manufacturers number DOES reflect the model year. This number will usually be: One letter followed by 3 to 4 numbers. Theses numbers will include the last 2 digits of the model year. The order of these numbers has changed over the years. The serial number is a 6 or 7 digit number that does NOT indicate the model year.
Marathon Models (1976 to 1993)
The manufacturers number and serial number for these E-Z-GO golf cart models can be found on a plate under the passenger side glove box.

2. What year is my Club Car?

1982 - 2000½ 2000½ - Present

2a. Where is the Serial Number located on my Club Car?

From 1981 through Present, Club Car positions the serial number under the glove box on the passenger side of the golf cart. The first 2 numerical characters indicate the last 2 digits of the year of manufacture. Golf carts prior to 1981, the serial number can be found on the vehicle frame. Lift the seat and locate the aluminum "I-beam" frame section (closest to the batteries). Note: If this serial number has been removed, you can confirm if its between 1975 & 1980 if there are 2 brake pedals and 1 accelerator pedal.

3. What year is my Yamaha?

G1 G2 & G9 G14, G16, G19 & G20
Note:For Yamaha vehicles use the attached chart to figure out the year of the cart. The year can be determined by the serial number of the vehicle.

3a Where is the Serial Number located on my Yamaha?

For G1 model carts, the serial number can be found under the rear bumper stamped into the square cross member of the frame.
For early G2 model carts, the serial number can be found under the rear bumper stamped into the square cross memeber of the frame. For G2 models made between 1988 and 1990, the serial number can be found under the seat where the floor board meets the motor compartment.
For G9 models, the serial number can be found under the seat where the floor board meets the motor compartment.
For modles G14, G16, G19 & G20, the serial number can be found running vertically just under the glove box on the far left (drivers side) of the vehicle.

*** Vehicle performance specs are compared to the standard factory performance. Several factors can effect the performance. Some are battery conditions; tire size, tread type and air pressure; and varying environmental conditions. Standard factory speeds normally run about 14 MPH!!! All vehicle speeds noted are calculated on flat ground. Adding Larger tires normally adds between 2-3 MPH. If you are unsure of how to use the above chart, please call (315) 701-0635. If you do not see the performance you require, please call. We often are capable of making non-standard motors through our engineering department.
